An overview of onboarding steps

When you first sign up on 1stCollab, you’ll be asked to complete a few onboarding steps before your campaign is launched and we begin reaching out to creators. The below is an overview of each step.

Schedule and complete a call


Estimated Time Needed: 30 minutes

Book a time with 1stCollab CEO, Leon Lin. During call expect to talk about some of the following:

  • Overview of 1stCollab and a demo of how the platform works.

  • Best practices for how be successful using 1stCollab.

  • Brainstorm ideas for upcoming influencer campaigns.

  • Brand providing an overview of marketing needs and goals.

  • Brand providing information on prior influencer marketing work, including what tools / platforms were used.

  • Review of where the brand is at right now in building their next influencer campaign.

  • Next steps (if any) with 1stCollab.

Activate X creators


Estimated Time Needed: 2 hours for every 100 creators

When browsing creators using our Discover tool or reviewing recommended creators, you’ll have the ability to activate creators into a creator set. Activating creators means that we’ll reach out to these creators as part of campaigns for which you connect the creator set to an active ad group in the campaign. The number of creators you’ll need to activate will be dependent on your campaign budget and your target creators. We assign a target to you during onboarding to best balance upfront work with making sure there are a good number of creators we can negotiate with as part of your campaign.

Note that activating creators is a step after saving creators. If you’ve simply saved many creators, make sure to return to your saved creators and activate them. You’ll be able to view all your activated creators by going to All Creators.

Write a creative brief


Estimated Time Needed: 1-2 hours

Instructions for creator a creative brief are available in the Creative Briefs section. This task will get marked as completed as soon as you add your first brief.

This is a critical step that can make or break a campaign from the start. We highly recommend using our template to ensure the best experience for your potential collaborators. Creative briefs should be as clear, detailed, and presentable in order to serve as a guide for creators as they work on content for your brand. Please take some time to review our Creative Brief Guide, and work with your 1stCollab team to iterate and perfect your creative brief.

Complete your brand information


Estimated Time Needed: 20 minutes

Your brand information and settings are available in the Settings section at the bottom of your left nav bar. This information is critical for making sure we properly represent your brand to creators and that we have all the information needed to properly manage your account. For more information about each of our brand settings, please see this guide.

Agree to our Brand Terms


Estimated Time Needed: 10 minutes

Successfully running a campaign on 1stCollab requires time and commitment from brands. We want to be upfront about what’s needed to run a campaign and restrictions you’ll encounter while running the campaign. We suggest you read the more in-depth explanation of some of the brand terms available here.

Launch your campaign


Estimated Time Needed: 15 minutes

Finally, when you’ve completed all the steps above, you’ll be ready to fully set up your campaign and launch it! See this guide for instructions on how to launch a campaign, including an explanation about every campaign parameter.
