Using the Content Library
Viewing Your Content
You can view all your creator content by going to the Content Library. You’ll see a view like the one below once you click on it.
Sample view of the Content Library
You’ll notice that each piece of content has an info bar at the bottom of the content rep:
Info bar for each piece of content in the Content Library
The info bar contains the following pieces of content and actions:
Whether you have usage rights for the content. If so, you’ll see a green check mark, along with an indicator of when you’ll have usage rights until.
If you don’t have usage rights:
The form icon will open up a module allowing you to request usage rights.
A link icon, which will take you to the live link for the video.
If you do have usage rights you’ll also see:
A download icon which will allow you to download the original MP4 file for the video.
For applicable platforms, you’ll see a copy icon, which will copy the ad code (e.g. TikTok Spark Code or IG Partnership Code) to use for directly boosting the video.
Filters and Sort Options
At the top of your content library you’ll see different sort options and filters like the view below.
Different sorting and filtering options are available at the top of the Content Library
These sort and filtering options allow you to do things such as view content you have usage rights for, see different content formats, or see what content has gotten the most engagement.

Promoting Content
When you have usage rights for content, it means that you’ll be able to run ads using the content from the creator’s video. There are a few ways that brands tend to use usage rights:
Directly promote the video. Also known as boosting or whitelisting, this method gives the original organic video increased distribution. To do this, copy the creator’s ad code from the Content Library and use those codes to directly promote the creator’s video on the appropriate ad platform.
Using part of the content from a creator’s video in an organic ad. This means that the brand will make edits to the creator’s original video or use part of the content to create an ad that the brand the promotes themselves. To get the raw MP4 file for making edits to the original video, head to the Content Library and download the MP4 file for the creator’s video.
Best Practices
Upfront vs. Post-Live
When setting up your campaign, you’ll be able to set a preference for when you want to request usage rights—either we’ll request usage rights for every piece of content in the campaign or you’ll be given the option to request usage rights for content once it goes live. In general, we suggest setting the usage rights to be requested after content goes live, unless you plan on promoting >50% of the content that goes live.
Picking what content to request usage rights for
We’ve seen that there’s often a correlation between organic content performance and ad performance. In other words, if a piece of content is engaging and did well when posted organically, it’s more likely to do well when being promoted as an ad.
As a result, we suggest prioritizing acquiring usage rights and promoting organic content that had high engagement when posted as organic content.
FAQs
Why can I only select durations of 7, 30, 60 or 365 days?
Why can I only select durations of 7, 30, 60 or 365 days?
We select these time periods because TikTok only allows Spark Codes to be authorized for those durations. In other words, creators can only create spark codes with usage rights durations of those time windows.
I want to promote the same piece of content across multiple platforms. How do I do that?
I want to promote the same piece of content across multiple platforms. How do I do that?
When requesting usage rights, you must select a platform for the usage rights. In order to promote your content on multiple platforms, you must acquire usage rights for all the platforms on which you want to run ads for the content. So if you want to run ads on both TikTok and Instagram using a piece of content, you must acquire usage rights for the content on both TikTok and Instagram to be compliant.
